Mechanical Engineering is the discipline that applies the principles of engineering, physics and material science for the design, analysis, manufacturing and maintenance of engines, machines and other mechanically functioning equipments. The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2014 with an aim to provide application based quality education to students. The Department places heavy emphasis on the laboratory component in the teaching curriculum and innovative research projects. Students are exposed to real industry situations through industrial visits and trainings. Regular activities are also organized to enhance the morale of students. The Department has well qualified and experienced team of faculty specialized in different fields of Mechanical Engineering, who are committed to provide quality education.
Following are the well equipped labs in the Department to cater the needs of the diploma students:
Mechanical Engg Lab
Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics Machines Lab
TOM and Measurement Lab
Heat Power Lab
Automobile Lab
Workshop
CAD/CAM Lab
Engg Drawing Lab
The mechanical Engineering department is dedicates to;
PO1.Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems.
PO2.Problem analysis: Identify and analyse well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.
PO3.Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs.
PO4.Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing: Apply modem engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.
PO5.Engineering practices for society, sustainability and environment: Apply appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical practices.
PO6.Project Management: Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined engineering activities.
PO7.Life-long learning: Ability to analyse individual needs and engage in updating in the context of technological changes.
PSO1.Develop the knowledge and skill relevant to Automobile, Thermal and fluid power industries.
PSO2.Exhibit the ability to make a product related to Mechanical Engineering and allied engineering fields.
